While the dairy sector has made significant strides in terms of using antibiotics more responsibly and implementing technology to monitor animal behaviour and health, more needs to be done to ensure sustainable and profitable production in the years to come. In a short course, held at the National Mastitis Council meeting in Ghent, Belgium in August 2024, five speakers offered insight into the challenges and opportunities the sector faces.
