Danish company capitalises human treatment expertise to Fight mastitis in dairy cows
With years of expertise in treating human ailments with laser, a Danish company is now focusing on the fight against mastitis in dairy cows. Based in the small Danish town of Silkeborg, Neeo Bovis has developed a scanner that can treat mastitis in cows using the same laser principles used on humans.
Dairy farmers know only too well the costs associated with mastitis in terms of lost production and expensive antibiotics. However, they are also aware of the need to find alternative treatments to antibiotics as more governments around the world set regulations to reduce their use.
Neeo Bovis insists its laser scanner can successfully treat both clinical and subclinical mastitis in only a few days, cutting somatic cell counts in the process. Launched at the Agromek Show in Denmark the Neeo Bovis scanner won three stars for its uniqueness on the market. The company says there is not another product like it available to treat cows.
