Tadele Tolosa is a veterinarian, (DVM, 1989, Addis Ababa University) and now an Associate Professor in microbiology at Jimma University, some 300 km southwest of the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. Tadele research interests are udder hygiene and milk quality, understanding the risk factors for bovine mastitis, studying the antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of the isolates from bovine mastitis and the impact of dry cow treatment. M2-magazine talked to Tadele about agriculture in Ethiopia and about the dairy sector in particular.
