Quality milk production essential on Hawaii’s last dairy farm

Residents of the island of Hawaii, also the US 50th State, know all too well the challenges associated with obtaining good quality dairy produce at a reasonable price. With a population of almost 1.5 million people, Hawaii has to import around 90 percent of its dairy requirements, and that in itself is a huge problem given the geographical position of the islands. With unreliable and lengthy shipping times, and sometimes import supply shortages, dairy products in Hawaii are subject to price fluctuations, which can play havoc with consumers cost of living expenses.
